I Bisinun Mami FAQ's

Here are some of the most common questions we get about the I Bisinun Mami Program.

What will I learn from this program?

On Day 1, participants will share their passion and ideas with each other, learn about the Five Steps of Starting a Home-Based Business, and go through GUMA's Business Plan form. On day 2, participants will learn some of what it takes to run a sustainable home-based business, how to fill out a Business License application, and GUMA's Micro Grant application.

How do I get funded?

In order to receive funding from GUMA, participants must obtain their GUMA Certification and apply for the GUMA Micro Grant Program.

How do I become "GUMA Certified"?

To become "GUMA Certified," participants must attend both Days 1 and 2 of the village training program and obtain their Business License. Participants are not required to attend both days in the same village, as long as they attend both days.

What is Supplemental Training?

Our Supplemental Training Program is optional but highly recommended. This training covers filing GRT's (Gross Receipts Tax) and more about the Business License Application, GUMA's Business Plan form, and GUMA's Micro Grant Application.

What kind of Businesses are eligible for this program?

We welcome all different kinds of businesses to attend our program. However, this specific program is catered to home-based businesses. Those who have businesses that are not run from their home should look into our Training & Mentoring Program. Click here to learn more.

How long will it take me to get the funding?

Grant Applications go through several layers of review before approval. If approved, participants will receive a confirmation email or call. This process can take anywhere from two weeks to a month, depending on the participant's documentation.
